JOB SUMMARY:

Conduct routine laboratory maintenance and support. Assist inventory management in protein science. Support assay design, optimization, validation, and data analyses. Perform molecular and cell biology experiments. Troubleshoot and analyze data in support of drug discovery projects. Experience in techniques in molecular biology and cell biology. Good written skills to document experiments conducted daily. Must be comfortable with a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform biological assays including enzymatic and cell-based assays, ELISA etc.
  • Assist with biological and biochemistry assays for compound testing and biomarker assessment.
  • Assist with the material inventory including proteins, antibodies, and plasmids in the protein science group.
  • Assist with protein expression and protein purification within the protein science group.
  • Prepare technical reports summaries, protocols, quantitative analyses, and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Lead a supporting role to the assigned project.
  • Assist with early research and development program studies including method development and compound testing.
  • Assist with pharmacodynamic (PD) biomarker studies including sample login, storage, and organization.
  • Make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Advance multiple projects, identify priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate results at internal meetings.
  • Prepare reagents for routine work performed in Research Biology.
  • All other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:



  • S. degree with 1 year experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience should be gained ideally in a molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or toxicology setting, and must be comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with various immunological techniques including but not limited to ELISA assays.
  • Experience with protein expression, purification and characterization, and other protein-related assays.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques: molecular cloning, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting,
  • Experience with other molecular biology techniques and cell culture.
  • Ability to work independently after adequate training in role.
  • Lead a supporting role to the assigned project.
  • Good communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
  • Self-motivated worker able to meet timelines set up by supervisor.
  • Ability to distinguish priorities at work.
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, highly matrixed work environment.
  • Good organizing skills, attention to detail, and willingness to support other team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization, verbally and in writing.
