Summary: UNC Hospitals Department of Pharmacy has an immediate opening for a highly-motivated pharmacist interested in joining our Abdominal Transplant Surgery Clinics. The successful Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) will play an integral role in the management of patients cared for in the UNC Hospitals Transplant Surgery and Kidney Transplant Clinics. These are multidisciplinary clinics located in Chapel Hill, NC which offer comprehensive services for kidney and liver transplantation. The Abdominal Transplant CPP will serve as an Advanced Practice Provider on the interdisciplinary health care team as well as providing clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other ancillary staff. Within this established clinic, pharmacy services have included pre-transplant selection through post-transplant disease management (e.g. immunosuppression, opportunistic infections and other associated comorbidities). The successful candidate will also provide educational mentorship and experiential precepting to pharmacy students, Post-graduate Year 1 (PGY1), and Post-graduate year 2 (PGY2) Pharmacy residents at UNC Hospitals. Additionally, the Abdominal Transplant CPP will work with the Department of Pharmacy to address institutional and departmental pharmacy-related quality improvement initiatives. Academic appointment at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is also available commensurate with experience. Completion of a PGY2 specialty residency in Ambulatory Care or Transplant or an equivalent level of experience in clinical practice is preferred. Three to five years of practice experience in ambulatory care or transplant practice would be strongly preferred. The designation of Board Certification in Transplant Pharmacy (BCTXP) Ambulatory Care (BCACP) or Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and/or prior experience as a resident and student preceptor is preferred.
