Description

Position Summary:

The Donation Intake Lead will assist in the operation of basic thrift store functions. These functions may include but are not limited to all facets of donation pick-up, receiving of donations, preparing donation receipts, sorting, organizing, processing, and display. The Donation Intake Lead will provide all aspects of customer assistance as well as perform cashier duties as assigned and data entry tasks.

Responsibilities:

Donations



  • Will be the primary driver and receiver of donation pickups in accordance with established procedures.
  • Receive and assist with donations when dropped off by donors.
  • Process donations according to established procedures.
  • Display donations per set guidelines and as instructed.
  • Prepare donation receipts.
  • Maintaindonation yard, containers, and donation intake area.
  • Train all supervisees.
  • Ensure all supervisees follow ALL established guidelines and procedures.
  • Work with the Customer Service Lead and Operations Manager to ensure plan of action are completed by all employees.


Customer Assistance



  • Assists customers by providing information and purchase assistance.
  • Assists donors with unloading donations.
  • Provides phonebackup.
  • Represents the agency by maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.
  • Works within the guidelines set forth in St. Vincent Centers' Mission Statement and the Catholic Charities USA Code of Ethics.


Data Entry



  • Performs data entry tasks related to the operations of the store.
  • Complies with agency guidelines relative to computer usage.
  • Provides reports to the Operations Manager as needed.
  • Performs simple data entry tasks related to timekeeping.
  • Cashieras backup or to help cover breaks and lunches.


Janitorial



  • Performs janitorial duties according to established standards and as directed.
  • Contributes to maintaining acceptable overall appearance of the store sales floor.
  • Will be in charge of maintaining the acceptable overall appearance of the production area, donation yard, and grounds of the store.


Community Outreach



  • Assist the Customer Service Lead and Operations Manager with marketing events (may be outside of your normal work hours).
  • Assist the Operations Manager with community partnerships.


Internal Inventory Control



  • Monitors processing equipment and supplies and recommends purchase as needed and with time.
  • Monitors all storage containers and storage spaces.
  • Assists with the prepping and taking of inventory annually.


Performs other duties as assigned



  • Attends trainings and/or workshops to promote personal and professional development.
  • Participates in annual evaluations with St Vincent Operations Manager.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, moving, lifting or assisting with lifting 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis and performing other work requiring physical exertion, talking, and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirement. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education



  • High School Diploma or GED


Experience



  • 2 years' supervisory experience is required
  • 2 years' experience in related field is desired

  • Ability to work successfully with coworkers, donors, volunteers, and customers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite

Licensure, Registration, Certification



  • Valid Washington State driver's license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities liability provider
  • Forklift Certification is preferred but not required


Employment is conditional upon:



  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required



Wage Range: $17.50 to $19.50 hourly, depending on education and experience

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:30am - 7:30pm
