Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's Emergency Department is a 100 bed unit consisting of Adult Emergency (75 beds), Pediatric Emergency (13 beds), and the Behavioral Health Observation Annex (12 beds). This position is specific to the 12-bed Behavioral Health Annex. We are a fast-paced unit consisting of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, ER Techs, and Paramedics. • Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license.
• Contributes to the assessment of patients and assures the well-being of patients.
• Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.
