Data Center Operations Tier II Engineer needed for a Contract to Hire opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Boyers, PA.
*Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance to be considered for this role. The Data Center Operations Tier II Engineer supports the development, delivery, configuration, optimization, and Tier 2-3 maintenance activities associated with complex, high performance, mission critical information technology systems. Responsibilities: * Provide day-to-day operations and maintenance support to assigned Data Center infrastructure. Manage hardware, software, networking, and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Work closely with platform engineering teams, facility management, and external vendors to maintain a secure and efficient data environment. * Monitor performance of systems, including servers, storage, and networking equipment. * Respond to system outages or failures within established service level timelines. Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with technical teams to resolve outages. * Identify and resolve system hardware and software anomalies by conducting systematic analyses, expert troubleshooting, and thorough diagnostic assessments of operating systems and hardware components. * Conduct Hardware and Software Asset Management and license compliance activities. * Assist technical teams in assessing resource use to predict future data center needs. * Maintain accurate records of systems, processes and incidents as applicable. Conduct peer review of system drawings, and cabling documentation in support of Tier 2 O&M. * Support all Customer Auditing scenarios (both SOC2 and ISO). * Identify and implement best practices for ensuring uninterrupted system availability. * Serve as a custodian for Government-provisioned Communications Security (COMSEC) material. Conduct COMSEC asset management, record keeping and compliance activities as required by U.S. Government protocols. * Ensure implementation of, and adherence to, US Government security practices and protocols. Implement standards for classified sites and cleared staff assigned to, or visiting, the Data Center. * Travel up to 25% of the time, as required, to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites or data centers. Education & Experience Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in electrical, industrial, computer science or information technology. Work experience in relevant fields may be considered for equivalency. * 4 years of experience managing Information Technology systems (8+ years desired). * Recent experience supporting classified U.S. Government programs. * Direct, recent experience in Iron Mountain's Pennsylvania Data Center operations. * Must complete Government provided COMSEC training within 6 months.
