Johnson Financial Group is Wisconsin's largest privately held, family-owned full service financial services institution, headquartered in Racine with locations across the state of Wisconsin. During our 10-week rotational internship, you will work closely with our Information Technology and Information Security teams to gain a well-rounded, hands-on understanding of the key pillars that drive success in technology and cybersecurity. Through structured rotations, you'll develop the foundational knowledge and practical skills that will prepare you for entry-level opportunities at JFG.

Our goal is to provide you with an immersive learning experience that not only deepens your understanding of financial services but also helps you discover where your interests and strengths align within the world of technology and cybersecurity.

You will gain experience in the areas of:

  • INFORMATION TECHOLOGY:
    • Assist in monitoring and maintaining servers and networks.
    • Support the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
    • Help maintain system documentation, inventory, and standard operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with IT team members to resolve support tickets and ensure system uptime.
    • Perform routine system health checks and report anomalies to senior engineers.
  • INFORMATION SECURITY:
    • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
    • Get hands-on experience with industry-standard tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection, etc.)
    • Help review and update security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
    • Learn how organizations assess and mitigate risks to maintain operational resilience.
    • Receive guidance from experienced cybersecurity leaders and participate in learning sessions.
  • Involvement with cross-functional project work between IT and Information Security.

Our program also allows interns to experience the history of JFG and its surrounding communities.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with our Executive Team during orientation and network with them throughout the summer.
  • Attend a community volunteer event at the Hunger Task Force.
  • Participate in the Light the Hoan Internship Challenge - a project that shows the true power of teamwork!

Qualifications:

  • Junior standing
  • Actively seeking a degree in computer science, management information systems, information security or related field.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft tools including Windows 10, Server 2016+, Active Directory, Intune/OneDrive and Networking platforms such as Cisco and Palo.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks such as CIS, NIST, FFIEC and ISO 27001 desired. Experience with Python and/or PowerShell a plus.
