Temporary Position Summary
The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry's rapidly changing workforce needs by providing San Antonio College students an opportunity to be paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experiences that expands their understanding of the industry and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to succeed. The internship is designed for the intern to learn to perform in a work environment and understand the rationale behind the strategies used. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and are currently enrolled in school or recently graduated to qualify. The Cybersecurity Intern plays an important supporting role in several ongoing day to day cyber operations and projects. The intern will assist management with researching, analyzing, and evaluating cyber projects that protect the organization against cybersecurity threats. The Cybersecurity Intern will support and assist management on cyber operations and projects in support of daily operations. Work as part of the cybersecurity team on various aspects of the cybersecurity field to include cyber defense, threat and vulnerability management, and role/risk reduction. The cybersecurity intern will get exposure to following areas: Log analysis Machine reimaging (macOS and Windows) Malware/Virus removal and analysis Phishing mailbox monitoring and remediation Threat feed monitoring and updating SIEM tool incident monitoring SIEM tool dashboard/reporting creation and monitoring SOC monitoring Governance, Risk, and Compliance Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.
A minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.
Demonstrated leadership potential.

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry.
