Job Purpose

The Supervisor of Transmission Line Services is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of line crews engaged in maintenance, construction projects, emergency response, and right-of-way maintenance. Reporting directly to the Manager of Transmission Line Services, this role ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The Supervisor will lead a team of linemen, coordinate tasks, and support the overall objectives of the Transmission Line Services department.

Key Accountabilities

Team Supervision:

  • Directly supervise union linemen, providing guidance and performance feedback while fostering a safe and positive work environment.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee daily maintenance, construction, and right-of-way activities, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.

Project Coordination:

  • Assist in planning and coordinating tasks, allocating resources effectively for maintenance and construction projects.

Emergency Response:

  • Lead emergency response efforts, ensuring crews are prepared to address outages and incidents promptly.

Safety Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and provide updates on operational performance and project progress.

Collaboration:

  • Work with other supervisors and departments to ensure effective communication and coordination with external stakeholders as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional travel to job sites and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Must be available for emergency response outside of regular working hours.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, with a focus on maintenance and construction.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably within a unionized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to transmission line operations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
