A Brief Overview

The Director of International Operations is responsible for leading and executing AIT's BPO & Shared Services Product across global markets. This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, optimizes transportation and distribution strategies, and fosters relationships with key agents and regional teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities & Activities

Strategic Leadership & Compliance

• Develop and implement international logistics strategies aligned with AIT's global goals.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with global agents and regional leaders to streamline operations.

Supply Chain & Transportation Management

• Oversee international freight forwarding operations including air, ocean, and brokerage.
• Optimize global transportation networks for timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate international service agreements.

Operational Efficiency & Risk Management

• Identify and mitigate risks in international logistics and shared services.
• Implement best practices for process improvement and operational scalability.
• Leverage data analytics to drive performance and decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development

• Build and maintain relationships with international agents, strategic partners, and internal teams.
• Lead initiatives to expand global logistics capabilities and reciprocal revenue growth.
• Represent AIT in industry forums and global operational discussions.

Other Skills We Hope to See:

• 10+ years of operations management experience in international freight forwarding
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Cargowise user
• Extensive experience in ocean and airfreight forwarding in a high growth environment
• Continuous improvement background ( Lean, Six-Sigma)
• IATA Certified
• Negotiating & Procurement expertise
• Demonstrated success in managing a global organization in a matrix structure
• Shared Services Team & BPO Governance Framework

Core Functions of Shared Services

• Establish a structured Shared Services team to support essential operational functions.
• Ensure governance that enables standardized, centralized, and scalable operational support.
• Establish and deploy a remote SWAT Team for Stations and Operational support as needed.
• Initial Operational Scope:
• All North American Station Operations (with a phased global expansion approach as needed)
• Milestone Management:
• Aligned with and support the base Corp KPIs & Milestone Compliance.

Governance of BPO Strategic Partners

• Provide centralized oversight and governance for BPO operations.
• Align services through standardization of processes and service delivery models.
• Manage performance to ensure service quality and scalability.
• Translate business requirements into actionable service deliverables.

KPIs & Milestones

• Develop and implement operational efficiency performance metrics aligned with SLA & KPI adherence.
• Drive cost optimization across BPO strategic partnerships.
• Monitor operational scalability metrics

In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (dependent on position).
