Accounts Receivable Specialist

Your main responsibilities

Primary Function:
Follow up with customers (internal & external) to collect outstanding accounts receivable using SAP, contract terms, and proactive communication.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage outbound calls and written follow-ups to reduce A/R for assigned districts
  • Document all customer interactions and prepare supporting documentation
  • Lead monthly calls with district teams to review top accounts and financial impact
  • Resolve disputes through contract review, negotiation, or escalation as needed
  • Meet or exceed collection and financial performance targets
  • Track and file liens; manage legal and collection files as required
  • Review unapplied payments and assist with unclaimed property resolution
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to achieve goals
  • Support and train new team members as needed
  • Work flexible hours; occasional travel may be required

What you bring

  • Education:



    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • OR Associate's degree with 1-2 years related experience
    • 2-4 years in customer service, accounting, or credit & collections



  • Work Experience & Skills:



    • Customer service experience required
    • Collections/Accounting experience required
    • Account management preferred
    • Supervisory or team management preferred
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Strong analytical, time management & organizational skills
    • Self-motivated with strong follow-up and closure abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
