Position Summary

Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst is responsible for campus-wide Identity and Access Management provisioning and troubleshooting, which includes the completion of service desk access requests and upper-tiered support of multiple record cross-functional teams. Create current and accurate Knowledge Base articles. Create access workflows utilizing up to date NIST access framework controls and protocols (nist.gov). Execute on-time access related projects as assigned. IAM functions cut across all IT activities: most systems of record provide data to the IAM system, and virtually all IT systems and services need IAM services (identifiers & attributes, authentication and access management services) provided to them. Must have access to a computer for On-call support responsibilities for the unit on evenings, holidays, and weekend hours which are required for emergencies and to maintain service operations as needed; including during maintenance periods.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Respond to questions, resolve requests and incidents concerning the multiple facets of IAM. Includes communication with end users and intermediary support staff.
  • Provide support of IAM tools and functions for departmental IT and/or HR staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analysis and resolution of multifaceted problems.
  • Create and maintain technical, operational, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of IAM and other team Managers to design IAM and related middleware services, maintain the IAM roadmap, and communicate it to and gain support for it from technical and functional leaders across campus.
  • Work with the various IAM teams to define functional and technical requirements and the technical architecture to address them.
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs, functional leads, and stakeholders across campus to gather IAM requirements and use cases.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor Degree within Computer Science or closely related field of study
  2. Minimum 1 years of professional IT experience within IS Security which includes demonstrated experience in assessing, monitoring and maintaining, and evaluating information security policies and systems, including hardware, firmware and software.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Linux Operating System
  • Familiarization with the NIST Framework (National Institute of Standards and Technology) published by the US Department of Commerce with reference to IAM (nist.gov)
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to evaluate both security and usability in user-facing applications, workflows, and solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations under pressure and deliver solid solutions.
