Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Supporting projects requiring due diligence and comprehensive historical research, including the completion of ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM International's E1527-21 Standard.
  • Providing multi-media environmental compliance services, delivering ongoing environmental guidance to clients and assisting with environmental compliance audits.
  • Supporting preparation of environmental plans such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s), and Slug Discharge Control Plans.
  • Supporting design and execution of environmental management systems and programs tailored for corporate clients.
  • Developing compliance documentation and permit applications related to the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Delivering litigation support services under attorney-client privilege.
  • Contributing to the development of technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, specifications, and proposals.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, chemistry, biology, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience (5+ years preferred) working in environmental consulting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to environmental compliance. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Hourly rate: $30.28 /hour / Maximum: $37.48/hour or Minimum Salary: $77,968.80/year / Maximum Salary: $116,485/year (Bellingham, Olympia)
  • Minimum Hourly rate: $31.72 /hour / Maximum: $37.48/hour or Minimum Salary: $77,968.80 /year / Maximum Salary: $122,040/year (Bainbridge Island, Seattle)
