Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced JIRA Team Lead to join our growing team. As the JIRA Team Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic vision, platform ownership, administration, optimization, and governance of our JIRA environment across the organization. You will lead a team of JIRA administrators and developers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure efficient and effective utilization of the platform. You will be a key player in enabling our teams to track their work, collaborate effectively, deliver high-quality products, and integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. You will provide insights and recommendations to the PMO.

Duties/ Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:



  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of JIRA administrators and developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on JIRA configuration, customization, and integration.
  • Manage team workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and support team members' professional development.
  • Delegate tasks, provide performance feedback, and foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide training on JIRA best practices.


Strategic Vision & Platform Ownership/Governance:



  • Define and execute the strategic vision for JIRA platform usage across the organization, aligning with business goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive JIRA strategy aligned with business needs and IT best practices.
  • Establish and enforce JIRA governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of the latest JIRA features, best practices, and industry trends, including advancements in AI/ML.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage JIRA to improve efficiency, collaboration, and visibility across teams.
  • Develop and maintain JIRA standards, policies, and documentation.


JIRA Administration & Configuration:



  • Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the JIRA platform, including projects, workflows, permissions, custom fields, and screens.
  • Design and implement complex JIRA workflows to support various software development methodologies (Agile, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain JIRA integrations with other tools in the environment, such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other relevant systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve JIRA-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Implement and maintain integrations with other Atlassian tools and third-party applications.


DevSecOps (DSO) Integration:



  • Champion the integration of JIRA into the DevSecOps (DSO) pipeline to enhance security and compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement JIRA workflows and configurations to support security vulnerability tracking, remediation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with security and development teams to ensure JIRA is aligned with security policies and best practices.


AI/ML Exploration & Implementation:



  • Research and evaluate the potential of AI/ML technologies to enhance JIRA's functionality and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Identify use cases for AI/ML within JIRA, such as intelligent issue assignment, automated issue resolution, and predictive analysis.
  • Lead the implementation and integration of AI/ML solutions into the JIRA platform.


User Support & Training:



  • Provide technical support and guidance to JIRA users across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training materials on JIRA features and functionalities.
  • Respond to user inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.


Continuous Improvement & Innovation:



  • Continuously seeking opportunities to improve JIRA processes, workflows, and configurations.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement changes and improvements based on data analysis and best practices.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new JIRA features and technologies.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Agile practices.


Reporting & Analytics:



  • Develop and maintain JIRA dashboards and reports to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Analyze JIRA data to identify areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Present JIRA data and insights to stakeholders, including management, development teams, and other departments.


  • Analyze JIRA data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.


Required Skills/Abilities



  • Expert knowledge of JIRA configuration, customization, and administration.
  • Proficiency in JIRA Query Language (JQL).
  • Experience with JIRA integrations with other tools, such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other relevant systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based JIRA environments (JIRA Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Groovy, Python) are a plus.
  • Atlassian Certified JIRA Administrator
  • Atlassian Certified JIRA Project Administrator
  • Must be a US Citizen


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience as a JIRA administrator, with a deep understanding of JIRA functionality and best practices, with a focus on enterprise-level deployments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing a technical team.
  • Experience working in a DevSecOps (DSO) environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with AI/ML integration in a workflow automation platform is a plus.


Travel Requirement:



  • Contractor personnel shall not be reimbursed for local travel, which is defined as within a fifty (50) mile radius from the primary place of performance
  • Potential for up to 10% travel


Clearance Requirement:



  • Ability to Obtain Public Trust


Salary:



  • $135,000- $155,000
