Summary

Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for our Volusia County facilities, with home base location in Deland. This position is 5 days a week, 36-40 hrs./week. The Advanced Practice Provider shall provide necessary and appropriate medical services for chronic care, acute care, and occupational medicine evaluations within the scope of the Advanced Practice Provider's training and experience. Responsibilities and expectations to include the following:

* Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care

* Continuously enhance clinical knowledge

* Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care

* Complete documentation, billing, and coding as required by healthcare regulations and standards

* Attend staff meetings, training, and continuing education as required

* Ability to treat Urgent Care presentations: (Chest Pain, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, etc.)

* Competency with minor in-office procedures to include: foreign body removal, laceration repair and suturing skills, abscess I & D

* Diagnose, treat, & splint fractures

* Perform Occupational exams to include: pre-employment exams, DOT evaluations with certification required within 30 days, Worker's Compensation evaluations, and other annual professional exams (Firefighter's physicals, FDLE police exams, etc.).

* Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience (good typing & computer skills)

Qualifications

* Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant Florida licensure

* Minimum 3 years' post licensing experience, working independently, in family medicine, urgent care clinics or a combination

* Graduate of an accredited program, APRN, NP, or PA program
