Manager of Training - Ground Services

Position Overview:

The Manager of Training leads the design, delivery, and oversight of training programs that ensure safe, compliant, and effective operations across QAS stations. This role develops engaging training content, monitors compliance with company and regulatory standards, and partners with operations to drive continuous improvement in training and performance.

This is a full-time salaried position for which regular attendance to meet immediate business demands is an essential requirement. Due to the nature of our business hours of work are to be flexible (shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays) with additional hours possibly required during certain peak periods. Position will require ability to obtain and maintain all security clearances required by TSA and/or local Airport Authorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

* Training Development and Delivery

  • Design, develop, and implement instructor-led and e-learning training programs.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to create training materials (manuals, lesson plans, e-learning modules, videos, etc.).
  • Ensure all training meets or exceeds regulatory, industry, and company standards.

* Compliance and Quality

  • Monitor and audit training programs to ensure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track training completion and identify gaps, expirations, and corrective actions.

* Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of learning, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Analyze training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with stations and departments to align training with operational needs.

* Support

  • Provide operational support as needed during startups, staffing shortages, or emergencies.
  • Represent the Training and Quality team in meetings and customer interactions.
  • Support and lead stations in responding to audits, findings, and compliance inquiries.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Proven experience developing eLearning (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate preferred).

* Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models (ADDIE, rapid design), and technical writing.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate skills in Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

* Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.

* Strong attention to detail and design sensibility; portfolio of training content required.

* Must complete basic company training in operational areas (ground handling, passenger service, cargo and mail, deicing, fueling and environmental services).

Education and Experience:

* Associate's degree in adult education, instructional design, instructional technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

* Previous experience applying adult learning theories and principles.

* Previous experience creating projects within time and budget constraints.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

* Combination of airport ramp and office environment

* Exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time

* Noise level in the work environment is excessive at times

Physical Demands:

* Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; speak clearly and hear efficiently.

* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

* Ability to travel 50% or more of the time.Availability to travel on short notice to meet immediate business needs may be required.
