The Electrical Safety Officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is responsible for overseeing the Electrical Safety Program, providing expertise in electrical safety, and serving as the primary contact for electrical safety-related concerns. This role involves providing electrical safety support to construction projects, working directly with project managers, craft, work planners, and field professionals to ensure effective implementation of electrical safe work practices, conducting incident investigations, leading safety assessments, and collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with safety standards. The position requires advanced knowledge in electrical engineering and safety protocols, and candidates must have excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and technical problem-solving skills. Responsibilities Requirements Physical requirements for field work and ability to traverse through job site. Ability to work in RAD area. Previous experience in a DOE CAT II Nuclear Facility. Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards including NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA, particularly NFPA 70E. Conduct incident investigations and determine root causes, developing corrective actions as necessary. Provide advanced support to engineers/scientists in solving complex technical problems. | |
