ABOUT POWER:
Power Construction is consistently regarded as one of Chicago's largest and most respected General Contractors according to Crain's Chicago. But beyond that, you can find us on the golf course, competing in beach volleyball or softball in Grant Park, brewing beer, attending neighborhood festivals, giving back to the community, and spending time together during a range of company-sponsored events. Our culture is one of the reasons we've been selected by our employees as a top workplace year after year and it's reflected in our current 92% employee retention rate.
We are builders. We crave being in the field and share an appetite for innovation. We believe that bringing diverse perspectives together helps foster stronger outcomes. We are driven to wow our clients and business partners, improve our processes, hire the right people, and help them grow. RECRUITING WITH POWER:
The number one challenge for every company? Hiring the right people. However, for us, recruitment is ultimately about finding the best fit for the long run - not just hiring bodies.
Our people drive our success and enhance our culture. As a Recruiter, you're not just helping us find great talent - you're shaping the future of Power. We're looking for someone who's passionate about working not only in the business of construction, but on the business of Power. As part of our Career Services team, you'll play a key role in identifying the best talent, nurturing our culture, and making a lasting impact on the company.
Think you'd be a great ambassador for Power Construction? We would love to talk with you! THIS ROLE MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF:
* You like it when things get busy, and you work with a sense of urgency. Our recruiters are constantly interacting with a high volume of people both face to face, virtually, and over the phone.
* You want to make an impact. You are passionate about making a difference in both the organization and in the lives of people.
* You're patient yet driven to succeed. You understand that in an industry where top talent is often passive, building meaningful relationships takes time - and you value the long-term impact of those connections.
* You not only have a keen eye for assessing both technical skills and interpersonal strengths, but you also understand the value of offering unbiased coaching and support to candidates as part of their job search.
* You enjoy picking up the phone and building genuine connections. You're a self-starter and a problem solver who can see the bigger picture and take proactive steps to move things forward.
* You're a natural connector. You immerse yourself in social situations with ease, build instant rapport, and bring confidence and approachability to every interaction.
* You're passionate about building high performing, diverse teams and engaging positively with people at different levels and backgrounds.
* You're comfortable in fast-paced environments and understand that organization and thorough follow-up are essential to successful outcomes.
* Your detail-oriented and committed to clear, consistent communication with candidates and hiring managers.
* You hold a four year Bachelor's Degree and bring 5-10 years of recruitment experience, combining both staffing agency and in-house general contractor roles, giving you a well-rounded understanding of construction recruiting. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
* Building Candidate Pipelines: You'll proactively source candidates, build strong pipelines, and maintain warm relationships. You know how to engage passive talent and spark interest in a way that feels authentic and aligned with our values.
* Identifying the Right Fit: You'll review resumes, manage incoming applications, post new roles, and use recruiting platforms to find candidates who match both the job requirements and our company culture.
* Screening Candidates: You'll use your technical construction knowledge and strong people sense to evaluate candidates for both hard and soft skills. Whether it's a phone call, video chat, or in-person meeting, you'll help identify those who are truly set up to succeed at Power.
* Coordinating Interviews: You'll schedule and coordinate interviews across job sites and our main office, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.
* Keeping Things Organized: You'll manage cloud-based systems to track resumes, upload documents, and follow up with candidates in a timely and efficient way.
* Staying Flexible: You'll adapt quickly when priorities shift- something that happens often in the construction world- and help keep our recruiting efforts moving forward.
* Help Shape a Better Hiring Experience: You'll bring fresh ideas and thoughtful feedback to improve how we attract, evaluate, and hire top talent. Whether it's refining our outreach, streamlining processes, or enhancing candidate interactions, you'll play a key role in making our hiring experience better for everyone involved.
* Networking: You'll attend industry events, conferences, and networking meetups to stay informed on market trends and connect with peers helping you build relationships, share insights, and stay plugged into what's happening in the field.
* Communicating Clearly: You'll write professionally and clearly- whether it's job postings, candidate outreach, or internal updates. Bonus points if you bring some marketing flair to the table! COMPENSATION DETAILS:
