Corporate Safety, Health, Environmental and Security (SHES) Program Manager

Overview

The Corporate SHES Program Manager will play a key role in defining, implementing, and supporting strategies that align with Austin Powder's Mission, Vision, and Values. This position will provide ongoing support for the execution of the company's Safety Management System and SHES Programs across all global manufacturing, distribution, and field service operations.

The Program Manager will report and work closely with the Global SHES Director and collaborate with regional/local SHES Managers, as well as plant, business, and operations managers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Ensure all global operations have access to and comply with Corporate SHES standards; support the development, review, and communication of these standards.
  • Drive SHES data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support hazard studies, incident investigations, risk assessments, and Management of Change (MOC) processes as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication of good practices and learnings throughout the organization.
  • Participate actively in recurring corporate meetings, including Safety Focus Meetings.
  • Support corporate SHES audits and site visits; follow up on corrective actions.
  • Contribute to corporate projects such as the global expansion of EHS software (e.g., Intelex), Learning Management Systems, and global sustainability initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company's SHES objectives.


Safety and Health Management:



  • Proactively plan, manage, and implement the company's safety management system to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to evaluate EHS program effectiveness.
  • Standardize SHES programs and KPIs in collaboration with regional/local managers; provide recommendations for safety improvement plans, hazard controls, employee training, and equipment operation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and remain current on industry regulations, advising management of changes and their impact.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of EHS software systems.


Environmental Management:



  • Support the development and implementation of corporate environmental standards and KPIs.
  • Drive compliance and continuous improvement in environmental performance.
  • Support corporate sustainability initiatives and disseminate good environmental practices.


Security:



  • Support the implementation of the company's Security Policy.
  • Assist in developing corporate security standards and KPIs.
  • Drive data collection and reporting of security incidents.
  • Promote good security practices across the organization.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety & Health, SHES Management, or a related field required, Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety management
  • Proven leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience leading remote teams.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessments, hazard studies, and incident investigations (ICAM methodology preferred).
  • Advanced interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and training delivery skills.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor/field settings.


Work Environment:



  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-15% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
