Primary Duty:

Position promotes and governs a safe working environment; supports and enforces company policy, and mentors/coaches employees on every aspect of production, safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Position is responsible for ensuring and maintaining all manufacturing standards, ensuring work schedules are accomplished and manpower is scheduled accordingly.The primary area of responsibility includes Assembly of finished goods (fleecing, accessories, quality inspection, packaging). The position is responsible for the proper packaging of materials into the correct crates, developing processes to improve upon our current work practices. This position should train and lead the workforce in the assembly area. This is an afternoon shift position (2:45 pm - 11 pm).

Working Responsibilities:

  • Conductsshiftmeetings with staff tocover safety, quality, and to providedirection and goalsfor daily activities - reviewing the prior day's results.

  • Ensuressafety standards are followed and communicated to direct reports. Followsall Company and OSHA Safety Policies.

  • Completes proper paperwork for accidents and notifiesEHS. Reports near misses.

  • Communicates with Human Resources to ensure all legal employment standards are followed and to address any employee relations issues.

  • Attendsandparticipatesin all required company training programs.

  • Conforms to all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintainsa high levelof customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, oneself, nor the environment.

  • Commits to and follows the facility Mission, Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.

  • Addresses staffing needs, schedulesmanpowerandassigns work to others.

  • Trains employees on jobs

  • Works with procurement to schedule and address material issues.

  • Performs routine and non-routine repetitive production and/or service duties toinclude:operation of specialty machinery, setup of complex tooling and equipment, completion of reports and logs, follow-up on work schedules

  • Interprets process sheets for workers

  • Ensures the plant equipment is clean and organizedand in good workingcondition.

  • Works with Quality departments to solve issues on the floor.Ensures that the standards for quality, output,safetyetc. are adhered to and improved upon.

  • Keepsaccuraterecords of production, waste, quality checks undertaken.

  • Must be willing and able to work splitshiftand overtime asrequired.

Education and Experience:

  1. Experience in leading or managing people and in addressingdifficult situations

  1. Mustpossessexcellent problem-solving skills

  1. Must not have current discipline on record at written warning level or higher

  1. Must have 4 or less absence occurrences under the attendance program
