Job Output

Under the supervision of theTechnical ServicesManager, theQualityLeadis responsible forsupporting theproduction teams to ensure all product specifications and quality metrics are met to align with customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesincludesthe following.Other duties may be assigned.

General Duties

  • Commit to and follow the facility Mission, Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.

  • Attend andparticipatein all required company training programs.

QualityDuties

  • Operate allquality checkequipment necessary for role

  • Perform hourly inspections ondimensions,visual checks, and other quality requirements as needed.

  • Support the development of standardworkand training materialwith the operators/team leadson theequipment.

  • Develop a working knowledge ofproducts (specifications, fit and function)in order tomake quality decisions during productionto prevent excessive defects and/or downtime.

  • Develop a knowledge of the basics of operation of each piece of equipment you are working within order tocommunicate issues and support troubleshooting.

  • Keepaccuraterecords of production, waste, qualitychecks undertakenas needed.

  • Communicate issues quickly and accurately to the operators, team lead, and plant resources to prevent excessive scrap and downtime.

  • Troubleshootissuesthat are within your knowledge and control. Decide quickly to contact more resources for issues outside of your knowledge and control.

  • Clean, inspect andverifygaugesare in working orderon a defined interval

  • Work with Manufacturing Technical Coordinator todevelopa gauge auditingprocess

  • Collect,auditandmaintainproduct standards/samples. Effectively use the standards set in place.

  • Assistwith the qualification process (collectingmaterial, takingmeasurements, recording data)

  • Ensure all containment(hold)events are documented and dispositionedin a timely manner

Environmental, Health, &Safety

  • Follow all Company,OSHA Safety, and EPA EnvironmentalPolicies.

  • Always ensures personal safe behaviorand encourages safe behavior in others.

  • Participates in safety related events/trainings/processes.

  • Conform to all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain clean and organized workarea.

  • Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

  • Report any safety/environmental incidents.

Cost

  • Looks for projects or methods to reduce cost without sacrificing the quality of the parts.

  • Driveswaste out of operation

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills including Excel, & web-based applications to enter dataregularly and accurately.

  • Direct knowledge anddemonstratedunderstanding ofJohnstown plant productsand processes is preferred.

  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing materials, fabrication processes, and machinery preferred.

  • Must beflexible and be able to respond with a positive attitude to changing demands and conditions.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with manyareas of the plant/company during meetings, presentations, and variousconversationson and off the floor.

  • Attention to detailand understand/adjusting tominor detail changes.

  • Ability to learn how tooperatea forklift and other company vehicles.
