Position Description:

The Position

The Vaughan Institute of Risk Management & Insurance within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position at the level of Assistant Professor of Instruction or Practice, Associate Professor of Instruction or Practice, or Full Professor of Instruction or Practice starting in August 2026. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. This position is 100% time (teaching 8 classes/year) and includes a 1-7 year contract, determined by rank and experience, with benefits. For more information about the Instructional Faculty policy, refer to the Policy Manual 10.6(3).

Education Requirement:

MBA, Master's in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

OR an earned doctorate in Risk Management and Insurance or Related Field.

Required Qualifications:

Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level in any area of risk management, property and liability insurance, and/or life and health insurance or strong background in the area with industry experience (5+ years).

Desirable Qualifications:

We particularly seek candidates who are prepared to teach multiple risk management and insurance classes depending on their background, such as principles of risk management, property and liability insurance, corporate risk management, life and health insurance, and employee benefits.
