JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

This position is responsible for creating technology from data in the form of reports, algorithms, analytics, and computational models. Require passion for data, serve as a data steward, and work to improve our data reliability and quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Research and develop innovative solutions for wearable devices, connected apps and software and to improve enterprise operational efficiency

    • Ideate with colleagues in a proactive way
    • Propose research projects
    • Review the existing literature, competitive products and patents
    • Create and evaluate POCs of the solution candidates


  • Provide technical leadership in various data science related activities

    • Demonstrate technical expertise in data science
    • Serve as a tech lead on at least one project
    • Provide technical consultation and guidance to junior engineers
    • Develop knowledge of data assets through the development of data dictionaries and related documentation.
    • Actively monitor, identify and propose new research and development opportunities
    • Work with management to maintain and enhance the team dynamics


  • Actively collaborate with other development groups to bring innovative solutions to market in a timely manner

    • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
    • Collaborate with other development groups to quickly bring innovative solutions to market
    • Work closely with a team of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
    • Work with relevant engineers to create proof of concepts effectively
    • Provide technical support to clinical evaluation and validation efforts
    • Work with relevant engineers to troubleshoot effectively and efficiently


  • Actively participate in and contribute to general computational infrastructure and knowledge development

    • Actively participate in and contribute to the relevant professional conferences
    • Actively participate in and contribute to the knowledge sharing activities and training
    • Actively participate in and contribute to the intellectual property related activities, such as patents




JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education



  • S. degree is required in applied mathematics or computer science


Experience



  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience plan M.S. degree; This requirement is waived for a Ph.D. degree


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Knowledge of applied mathematics and statistics required
  • Knowledge of data science best practices required
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning desirable
  • Knowledge of hearing enhancement highly desirable
  • Knowledge of health and wellness monitoring desirable


Competencies, Skills & Abilities



  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Proficiency in data visualization required
  • Proficiency in Python required
  • Proficiency in R programming required
  • Hands-on SQL experience (No-SQL experience is a plus)
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Process oriented with great documentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service


Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay rate for this position is between $113,960 - $157,500 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
