Under supervision, the incumbent will be working as a Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry. The incumbent will assist with experiments of drug self-administration in rats, intravenous and intracranial surgeries, keep journals and publication files up to date, maintaining lab cleanliness, and assist the supervisor with other tasks as required. Assist with processing tissue for image analysis to support investigation of changes in neuronal connectivity (e.g. transcardial perfusions, sectioning, IHC, mounting slides), producing consistent detailed results analyzing tissue via imaging software (imageJ) and assist with standard animal behavioral testing and protocols. Assist with caring for rat colony (Doxycycline treatment) through animal husbandry to support all laboratory research. Assist with other project and miscellaneous duties as required. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $43,639 - $50,571 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $20.90 - $24.22 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
