Software Delivery Operations Manager

At Mimecast, we empower organizations with advanced cybersecurity solutions that protect communication and collaboration. As part of our Digital Transformation team, you'll help advance our global corporate systems by improving, strengthening, and equipping our teams with cutting-edge technology capabilities. You'll work with passionate DTO colleagues and make a real impact with IT to enable the organization to scale and grow. This position is in our Lexington offices outside of Boston, MA. and will have a weekly in-office presence with our hybrid work model.

About the Role

As a Software Delivery Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent, on-time delivery of software projects. You'll optimize team performance, resource allocation, and CI/CD processes, all while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Management:Ensure teams meet sprint/release commitments, track delivery metrics, and proactively address risks and impediments.

  • Resource & Capacity Planning:Forecast and allocate resources, optimize team utilization, and maintain transparency on capacity and commitments.

  • Work Intake & Backlog Management:Control development queue, enforce WIP limits, prevent scope creep, and keep backlog healthy and prioritized.

  • CI/CD & Deployment Excellence:Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, reduce deployment friction, and increase deployment frequency and reliability.

  • Blocker & Dependency Management:Identify and remove impediments, manage cross-team dependencies, and escalate systemic issues.

  • Agile Facilitation:Lead Scrum/SAFe ceremonies, coach teams on agile best practices, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaboration:Work closely with PMs, BAs, and tech leaders to align priorities and support project planning.

  • Data-Driven Reporting:Implement dashboards, analyze trends, and report on delivery health, resource utilization, and key risks.

  • Tool Optimization:Administer Jira and recommend tools to enhance productivity and transparency.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive experiencein software delivery management or technical project management within technology-driven environments.

  • Proven abilityto lead development teams to meet delivery commitments and scheduled milestones.

  • Expertisein resource allocation, capacity planning, and optimization.

  • Hands-on knowledgeof CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

  • Strong backgroundin agile environments; Scrum/SAFe certification is a plus.

  • Proficiencywith Jira (admin-level experience), Microsoft Office, Google Sheets; Smartsheet experience a plus.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Adaptabilityand a passion for driving data-driven decisions in a dynamic environment.

  • Delivery predictability and stakeholder satisfaction

The base salary range for this position is 124K - 186K plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
