DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the workflow and effectiveness of the Medical, Osteopathic, and Podiatry Boards and their staff. Our team will rely on you to establish and implement operational policies and procedures within the Division. This includes participating in policy development, referring recommendations on uniquely sensitive or substantiative matters to the commissioners, and maintaining a high level of independent decision making and confidentiality. Your responsibilities will also involve independently directing and having broad supervision over management, administrative, supervisory, and clerical support staff to determine staff resource and compliment needs, develop and maintain procedure manuals, and ensure that all Board laws, regulations, and policies are being followed and evaluated when determining applicants' qualifications for licensure. You will be expected to interpret federal and state laws, regulations, and requirements; review proposed legislation and Board regulations to determine feasibility for implementation; and provide executives with various reports and statistical data needed to establish and set administrative licensing boards fees and make other critical decisions. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:0 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% of the time, after successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Administrative Officer 1; or
- Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations. Recruitment Methods:

Promotion Without Examination (PWOE):
- Class Restrictions for Promotion Without Examination Only - You must have or have held regular civil service status in one of the following classifications:
- Administrative Officer 1
- Administrative Assistant 2
- Employees who previously held regular civil service status in the job title of the position being filled are also eligible for promotion without examination.
- The promotion without examination requirements are issued in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
- Meritorious service is defined as (a) the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting, and (b) the last regular or probationary performance evaluation showing an overall rating of satisfactory or higher.
- Applicants must have a minimum of one year in the next lower classes by the posting closing date with no break in service.
