THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services at Torrance State Hospital is actively seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant to join their dedicated team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant at Torrance State Hospital, your role will involve designing and implementing both group and individualized treatment plans tailored to our adult patients. You will be tasked with completing essential clinical documentation while ensuring the department maintains a safe and organized environment, including managing inventory effectively. Under the guidance of our Licensed Occupational Therapists, you will have the opportunity to apply a diverse array of clinical skills and will be encouraged to expand your expertise to meet the psychosocial and physical needs of our patients. This position also allows for the development of meaningful relationships with both staff and patients, facilitating the delivery of impactful programming that contributes to successful discharge outcomes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Monday - Friday, working every 5th Saturday with the following Monday off; with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • You must be in possession of a license to assist in the practice of occupational therapy, under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure, or possession of a temporary license.

Condition of Employment:

  • Persons possessing a temporary license will be accepted pending full licensure which must occur within one year after employment.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
