POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading and driving the health of inventory control systems and strategies to maximize inventory accuracy, which includes reconciling inventory, creating and coaching standard routines, problem solving discrepancies, coordinating cycle counts, and ensuring compliance within inventory management practices. Own the purchasing of a portion of raw and packaging materials, maintaining relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply, and driving supplier performance. Serve as the primary backup to the Sr. Production Planner and assume responsibilities for HALB planning when needed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive inventory system health through inventory management routine strategy implementation.
- Monitor supply signals using MRP purchase requisitions ensuring delivery dates, lead times, and required quantities are correct to create purchase orders. Follow-up with suppliers to ensure material fulfillment.
- Utilize EWM, SAP, DMO, and OMP tools during planning exercises to manage inventory, ensure supply, and create the optimal production plan that meets cost and service objectives.
- Set up new materials and maintain master data within supply chain activities as needed.
- Lead ICC routine (Inventory Cost and Control) partnering with quality and finance to drive adherence to inventory routines and mitigate salvage
- Mitigate ensure supply risks by proactively identifying potential shortages or risks in supply chain.
- Manage material ordering using dynamic planning approach that enables optimal inventory working capital.
- Publish weekly production plan to site, and review all production changes, limitations, priorities to meet customer orders and abnormal events as needed to backfill Sr. Production Planner.
- Act as the liaison between the factory and corporate supply chain to properly determine the priorities of the business.
- Work closely cross-functionally driving results through Local Leadership Team (LLT) routines and effective problem solving.
- Train and support development of operators as needed to mature capability and skills progression on shop floor.
- Establish continuous improvement routines as needed to drive performance across end-to-end supply chain.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in an Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Management preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for Logistics or Supply Chain Management required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in production scheduling, material handling, and/or supply chain management required.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement principles and processes preferred.
- Experience negotiating with vendors preferred.
- Factory master data management experience preferred.
- Experience understanding and following the product life cycle process preferred.
