Fortress Nutrition is actively hiring for a full-time Batcher/Sanitation Operator to work on our Beverage Canning Line on an on-call/flexible hour basis.

The right candidate will have previous experience in liquid blending/batching (preferably in the food and beverage industry), will be able to flex hours to fit batching needs within the week, and must be able to be accountable to the company's need for overtime & weekend work as required. Hours >50 per week and weekend work is paid at double pay.

Training Schedule:

Night Shift (4:00pm-4:30am, Monday-Friday); OT and weekends as needed

Standard Schedule:

Flexible/Adjustable Hours - 4:00pm-4:30am; OT and Weekends (may be mandatory based on production schedule)

*Schedule will be provided a week in advance, and start/stop time will vary during the week between 4:00pm-4:30am*

Job Summary: Working as part of the Beverage Operations team, the Batcher/Sanitation Operator is a dual role. The primary responsibilities will be working as a Batcher, pre-weighing, mixing, and blending raw materials to create beverage products following the client recipe. When batching is complete or not needed, you will maintain a clean and sanitary production environment by performing regular sanitation duties on the batching/filler equipment, supporting food safety standards, and complying with all company and regular requirements.

What You'll Do:

Batcher Duties:


  • Obtain, pre-weigh, load and mix raw ingredients for each batch following the MMR (batch ticket) by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to ensure resulting mixture meets specified consistencies and requirements
  • Pull water samples from mixing and syrup tanks for testing of pH levels
  • Report any urgent quality, food safety incidents, or deviations immediately to the Operations Manager or Quality team for investigation and resolution
  • Set-up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain all high-speed canning line equipment, including packaging, filler, seamer, and shrink wrapper to ensure quality and efficiency of product output
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure equipment and product quality is maintained at all times
  • Provide support as needed by working overtime to help operations and other shifts in staffing shortages
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership



Sanitation Duties:

  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, tanks, lines, and production areas according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble production equipment safely and correctly
  • Handle and mix cleaning chemicals according to safety data sheets (SDS) and company procedures
  • Document sanitation activities accurately and completely
  • Assist with pre- and post-production cleaning, including floors, drains, walls, and tools
  • Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
  • Notify maintenance of any equipment/mechanical issues and necessary repairs with strong sense of urgency to minimize production delays
  • Perform physical inventory of sanitation materials and notify supervision of replenishment needs in a timely manner
  • Perform all other duties as assigned



What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in a batcher/mixer/blender role (liquid batching strongly desired)
  • Must possess basic math and conversion skills through prior experience in a batching role (ex. Kilos to pounds, gallons to pounds, etc.)
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, in wet environments, and around moving machinery
  • Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills to ensure recipes are completed according to client MMRs in appropriate order with no deviation
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write, and communicate in English
  • Reliability, punctuality, strong sense of urgency, and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based on production/business needs


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a bottling and canning facility or food/beverage manufacturing environment with understanding of food safety/quality programs such as GMPs
  • Previous machine operating experience
  • Previous experience in a machine sanitation role



Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; talk or hear; reach above shoulders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pinch or touch objects, controls, tools or equipment; kneel, crouch and use foot/feet to operate machinery; bend at the waist; climb or balance
  • Frequently required to lift, carry, move, push or pull materials, product or equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to ten (10) or more hours in a single shift
