Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
The Senior Technical Solutions Analyst is responsible for the proper alignment between business processes and applications while striving for continuous improvement and enhancements of technology. They are responsible for analyzing, designing, and proposing IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency, while ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. As an ITS liaison, this role is expected to maintain a global, enterprise-wide viewpoint while supporting the mission and vision of the organization and acting in the best interest of both the ITS department and their assigned project/initiative. In addition, the role should contribute broad experience and a high level of expertise in business acumen, technical proficiency, and application lifecycle development techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Acts as primary liaison between ITS and business on assigned projects and/or enhancements to ensure functional and technical requirements are captured and delivered as part of the technical solution, includes collaborating with business stakeholders to define functional requirements and with technical staff to develop solution alternatives.
- Leads analysis, facilitates/elicits requirements, performs current state, gap and future state technical analysis and participates in design activities; maintains an understanding of a broad range of technical flows, configuration, and set-up, and related systems; provides strategic advice for technical solutions. Acts as overall owner functional and technical requirements for the assigned application/project/initiative.
- Document and refine requirements into user stories, to describe the business needs.
- Partner with cross functional teams to define and translate business requirements into enterprise technical solutions including creation of SFTP transfer processes.
- Able to thoroughly create and understand complex functional user flows and mockups.
- Assists with all application implementations including software selection, planning, data conversion, application configuration, process workflow analysis, enhancements, quality assurance, requirements documentation, user acceptance testing, training, and ongoing production support.
- Consults with management and personnel to identify impact and project needs to successfully meet all defined BU / CU business goals and objectives identified during budget planning and throughout the year
- Supports the Project Management process; understands and applies the system development methodology; contributes to project deliverables including vision documents, status reports, and project, risk; communicates status, business impacts and system changes to team members, business partners, sponsors, management, and other interested parties; coordinates change management, issues, tracking and resolution.
- Manages and/or participates in testing activities for project assignments; provides guidance for testing strategies, scope, and scenarios; reviews and provides advice for testing- reviews test cases, prepares and reviews test plans; identifies testing risks and contributes to the overall management of project and risk plans; works with business partners to support user acceptance testing.
- Effectively communicate (verbally and written) with project stakeholders, senior management, external vendors, across ITS departments and project team members.
- Facilitate and contribute to Scrum events: daily standups, backlog refinement meetings, Sprint demo and Sprint planning
- Provides an ongoing coaching and mentoring to Technical Systems Analysts and new hires.
- Assists with audits and disaster recovery testing, as necessary.
- Actively identify and participate in training, education, and development activities to improve own knowledge and performance to sustain and enhance professional development
- Follow all enterprise data security and privacy guidelines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum eight years' experience in business/technical analysis or process re-engineering with experience leading analysis on complex business/technical initiatives.
- Experience in Waterfall and Agile methodology required
- ITIL and Scrum certification strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
