Naval Launching Systems Mechanic


Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Mechanical Launcher Support technician who will be a key support to the ongoing project in San Diego, California.


Job Description:


  • Designs, implements and tests simulations associated with the design, Development, fabrication, and fielding of a Multi-Mission Advanced Capability Transportable Target Launcher (MACTTL) and well as field operations associated with Ballistic Missile System Flight Testing.
  • Participates in the MACTTL as a subject matter expert in electrical system designs, system safety, military use ballistic missile launchers and launcher system operations.
  • Conducts electrical system technical work to include requirements baseline
  • Documents system risks and mitigation strategies,
  • Participates in the Risk and Opportunities Manage Board (ROMB) and supports ballistic vehicle system integration.
  • Defines schedules, assigns, and executes tasks, and leads the monitoring of integration and checkout activities, receiving and evaluating of results of activities.
  • Approves and disapproves of each by determining whether results meet the checkout requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a minimum of 30 years' experience in the Electrical Technical Field.
  • Must have experience with Ballistic Missile Target Launcher systems execution.
  • Must have Electrical functionality and design of Ballistic Target Launcher systems.
  • Must have knowledge of Ballistic Missile Launcher Operations
  • Must have experience with DOD Range operations, specifically, White Sands Missile Range (WSRM)
  • Must have experience with High and low voltage electrical systems and both portable and shore sourced power.
  • Must have knowledge of Systems Grounding and Fault Safety
  • Must have knowledge in NEC Code Enforcement
  • Must possess a current Electrical Contractors Licenses
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License
  • Must have US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must contribute to efforts to solve complex weapons systems development problems.
  • Must have the ability to develop, maintain and identify improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, and opportunity management processes.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience with precise Naval Launching Systems is strongly preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must have the ability to obtain access to military bases.


Travel Requirements:


  • Occasional travel- less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $26.70 per hour
