Generator Mechanic

Summary:

Goldbelt APEX is looking for a Generator Mechanic.

Essential Job Functions:

• Accurately inspect and diagnose issues with generators.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent unexpected breakdowns of generators.
• Repair malfunctioning generators and replace parts as needed.
• Oversee the installation of new generators, ensuring they are fully operational.
• Test generator performance and output to confirm compliance with specifications and requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of generator maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Follow safety procedures while working on generators to prevent accidents.
• Consult customers to understand their generator needs and provide suitable solutions.
• Offer information on proper generator usage and safety precautions.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in generator technology and apply them as necessary.
• Order and replace parts and supplies as needed.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Excellent understanding of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and generator components.
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Completion of a technical program in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Capable of diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with civilian and/or military style generators.
• At least 2 years of unsupervised field experience performing all phases of generator maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree or certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Prior military or LOGCAP experience in the Generator Department.
• Certification as a technician from FG Willison, Cummins, Caterpillar, or similar organizations. Technician certification.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $36.00 - $45.00 per hour.
