Summary: Goldbelt APEX is looking for a Generator Mechanic.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Accurately inspect and diagnose issues with generators.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent unexpected breakdowns of generators.
- Repair malfunctioning generators and replace parts as needed.
- Oversee the installation of new generators, ensuring they are fully operational.
- Test generator performance and output to confirm compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of generator maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Follow safety procedures while working on generators to prevent accidents.
- Consult customers to understand their generator needs and provide suitable solutions.
- Offer information on proper generator usage and safety precautions.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in generator technology and apply them as necessary.
- Order and replace parts and supplies as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and generator components.
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Completion of a technical program in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Capable of diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to adhere to safety procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with civilian and/or military style generators.
- At least 2 years of unsupervised field experience performing all phases of generator maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Prior military or LOGCAP experience in the Generator Department.
- Certification as a technician from FG Willison, Cummins, Caterpillar, or similar organizations. Technician certification.
