Position Title: Shipping Worker
Wage: $21/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:30am-4pm We are searching for skilled sit-down Forklift Operators for a role we have located in Kansas City, MO! This company offers room for growth, on-the-job training in overhead crane, and a healthy benefits package once hired. This is also a Union company. Shipping Worker Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Maintain required quality and quantity of parts being processed or handled - Adapt to quickly changing schedules and priorities while still making deadlines - Manage a high level of detail in the context of shipping orders including international loads - Use a variety of tools to package or crate product (not limited to air and hand banders, nail gun, power saws) - Pull product from various locations (inside and outside) - Recognize a wide variety of part numbers per location - Responsible for shipping warehouse organization and safe storage of items - Responsible for reporting incorrect part weights or inventory balances - Responsible for assisting all product being loaded in department as needed - Use a barcode gun, computer and log sheet to report movement of inventory, complete quality checklist(s) and loading documents Shipping Worker Requirements: - High school degree, GED, or equivalent work experience - Prior sit-down forklift experience - Overhead crane experience is a plus - Ability to lift 40-80 pounds occasionally - Occasionally lifting overhead up to 30 pounds - Constant bending, twisting and grasping - Frequent squatting, kneeling - Frequently walking and standing - Ability to train on overhead crane operation - Ability to read basic shipping documents and follow daily shipping schedule - Strong focus on safety and attention to detail - Ability to read, write, and do basic math in English - Ability to work in a team environment - Must be able to carry out detailed written or oral instruction - A high level of safety awareness of surroundings and when driving around people, moving large items, and stacking items QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
