Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Accounting Analyst will be the primary division contact for researching and resolving short pays and unapplied funds. Resolves issues while serving as liaison between customers and sales. Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
- Represent Ben E. Keith Co. with professionalism, maintaining a positive attitude and following dress code.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
- Create vendor compliance bill backs.
- Review Vendor costs on vendor invoices (pricing errors) and maintain spreadsheet for cost changes. Ensure documentation is legible and accurate.
- Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using computers.
- Compile statistical financial accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters.
- Ensure that the BEK administrative requirements are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
- Operate 10-key calculators, pc's, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
- Maintain office records
- Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
- Perform routine data entry and provide administrative and clerical support wherever needed.
- Assist Division departments with account and transactional information.
- Assist with other departments transaction, reports or other standard business information.
- Assist with research projects
- Prepare and distribute specified reports to management as required.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
- Perform job duties in a manner that protects employees and company confidentiality.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Commitment to Ben E. Keith company principles and standards.
- Ability to speak to small and large groups to convey information effectively.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence and communications. Ability to effectively present information to employees in a written format.
- Ability to relate to all types of people and levels in and outside the organization, employing social perceptiveness, active listening skills and adjusting actions and style of communication when appropriate to ensure effectiveness.
- Able to coordinate multiple activities and follow through with commitments in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn and use relevant internal computer applications.
- Working knowledge of office machines and multi-line phone system. Ability to use 10-key touch preferred.
- Requires making decisions that impact the results of co-workers, business partners or the company.
- Requires making decisions that affect other people, the financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization.

- Good oral and written communication skills and participate well in a team environment
- Must be highly motivated and results oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
- Two or more years office experience recommended.
- Must be 18 years of age to apply.
- Valid driver's license is required if driving to perform company business.
- Associates or related degree or related experience resulting in equivalent level of accounting knowledge and experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
