Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
- Manage system performance, uptime, and reliability across production and staging environments.
- Implement and maintain user accounts, permissions, and system policies.
- Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations regularly.
- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources (VMs, storage, networking, databases, and load balancers).
- Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies.
- Monitor cloud performance and optimize cost and efficiency.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, routing, and network security groups.
- Implement identity and access management (IAM) policies and role-based access controls.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and security best practices.
- Automate operational processes and deployments using shell scripts, Python, or PowerShell.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for software delivery.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to support containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Utilize monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, etc.) to ensure system health.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, outages, and configuration problems.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Hands-on experience with Azure/AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, Azure VM, Azure Storage, etc.).
- Familiar with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or similar.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
Education:
- Master's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or related technical discipline and 10+ years' work experience.
- Ten (10) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (20 years total).
