Primarily responsible for performing manufacturing activities necessary to produce chemistry products in a lead capacity. This role regulates work assignments for chemistry assemblers as directed by the Production Manager. The Chemistry Production Lead adheres to standard work procedures to optimize chemical production processes, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position drives continuous improvement and positively influences team productivity through leadership and guidance. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Lead and regulate work assignments and workflow of the chemistry production team in alignment with Production Manager directives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communicating escalations and production-related concerns to management.
  • Ensure team members are properly trained and provide ongoing support to monitor and improve performance.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of chemical production, including raw material handling, mixing, and finished product packaging.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize yields.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality requirements as outlined in documented work instructions.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures, conduct in-process testing, and troubleshoot deviations.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring all production activities comply with company safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
  • Monitor workflows to ensure timely delivery of finished goods, coordinating with the warehouse for availability and distribution.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance technician to ensure proper functioning and preventive maintenance of chemistry production equipment.
  • Actively lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and shipping teams to advance products through the value stream.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving chemical production or manual assembly.
  • Prior leadership or team lead experience in a production setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving production issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface across all levels of the organization.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail in manual tasks.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and support team members to achieve performance goals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality standards, and adherence to company policies.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Flexible schedule required, including early morning start times, overtime, and occasional weekend work based on production needs.

Working Conditions: While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's location in Fort Myers, FL. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager. Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
