Pay Grade Range: $81,812.64 - $102,265.90

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted pay grade range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Function:

  • The Relationship Manager, AVP is responsible for supporting the growth and retention of a portfolio of highly engaged members while delivering exceptional service and financial guidance.
  • This role partners closely with the VP, Premier Banking to execute departmental strategies, drive portfolio results, and ensure seamless member experiences.
  • The AVP serves as a trusted advisor to members by providing comprehensive financial solutions, deepening engagement, and expanding wallet share.
  • This position is designed for a high-potential banking professional who will work closely with a Premier Banker (VP) to manage back-office operations, client documentation, and house accounts.
  • The AVP will gain hands-on experience in relationship management, financial planning, and product delivery, with the goal of transitioning into a client-facing role and managing their own book of business.
  • This role is designed as a precursor to the Vice President, Premier Banking position. Successful AVPs will demonstrate leadership, initiative, and relationship-building capabilities that prepare them to manage their own book of mass affluent clients

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Support & Execution

  • Support the VP in implementing initiatives that drive member acquisition, relationship growth, and revenue generation.
  • Provide feedback on product performance and member needs to inform strategic planning.
  • Monitor local market and industry trends to identify opportunities for competitive positioning.
  • Contribute to departmental projects that align with credit union goals.
  • Assist the VP in managing client relationships by preparing documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain and update client records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate onboarding and servicing of house accounts, including account setup, product enrollment, and follow-up.
  • Monitor client activity and flag opportunities for engagement or escalation.

Member Relationship Management / Development

  • Shadow the VP during client meetings and planning sessions to gain exposure to relationship management best practices.
  • Participate in financial reviews and assist in preparing personalized banking solutions.
  • Build rapport with clients through proactive communication and service excellence.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of high-value members, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for financial needs, including account opening and maintenance, resolving inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Proactively assess member goals and recommend tailored solutions to strengthen loyalty and retention.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth handoffs and high-quality service delivery.

Financial Solutions Delivery

  • Deliver comprehensive financial solutions including deposits, loans, investment referrals, and insurance.
  • Conduct financial reviews to identify cross-sell and referral opportunities.
  • Stay current on Workers Credit Union products and competitor offerings to provide members with relevant recommendations.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the Premier Banking suite, including tiered benefits, lending products, and digital tools.

Sales and Growth Objectives

  • Support cross-sell initiatives by identifying client needs and recommending appropriate products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., lending, investments, digital banking) to ensure seamless client experience.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales, growth, and engagement targets.
  • Support business development activities within the community and through member referrals.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and report progress to the VP, Premier Banking.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and credit union policies.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of member data.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and adjust member solutions as appropriate.

Other Duties:

  • Provide coverage in other branches or departments as needed.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Uphold Workers Credit Union's Fundamentals and culture.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member and organizational data.
  • Engage in structured learning and mentorship to prepare for future promotion to Premier Banker.
  • Attend training sessions, webinars, and client events to build product knowledge and relationship skills.
  • Take ownership of a small portfolio of house accounts to practice independent relationship management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Mandated Licensing Requirement:

  • Must be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System ("NMLS") and maintain active status and accurate registration information on file. Provides changes to any individual information (such as an address or name change) as they occur directly into the NMLS system or to the HR Department within 20 days of such change.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services or relationship management.
  • At least 2-3 years of supervisory, mentorship, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, portfolio growth, and client relationship management.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of consumer and mortgage lending, deposit products, insurance, and investment services.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and influence outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • This role is currently classified as a Hybrid position. However, the classification is subject to change based on business needs.
