We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically rigorous Emerging Markets Credit Analyst to join our Fixed Income Emerging Markets Team. This role will focus on evaluating quasi-sovereign, state-owned enterprises, corporate issuers, as well as infrastructure-related credit opportunities across Global Emerging Markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sovereign and sub-sovereign risk dynamics, infrastructure/project finance, and political risk factors. This role is required to be on-site in our Newport Beach, CA offices.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead and participate in due diligence calls, investor roadshows, and analytical research to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare clear, concise investment summaries, including detailed analysis of covenant strength and structural protections.
  • Analyze financial models and generate forward-looking performance forecasts.
  • Manage the flow of offering materials and financial reports to assess new opportunities and monitor existing portfolio positions.
  • Represent Pacific Life professionally at investor conferences and external engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, including salespeople, traders, research analysts, rating agencies, and capital markets professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow analysts, traders, and portfolio managers to drive portfolio performance.
  • Generate value-added trade ideas and deliver succinct investment recommendations for both primary and secondary market opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and communicate early signs of credit deterioration to portfolio managers and senior credit leadership.

The Experience You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in credit research or investment analysis.
  • Strong background in emerging markets, with exposure to project finance or industry-specific credit analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Spanish/English bilingual candidates preferred.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$180,180.00 - $220,220.00
