HealthPartners is currently hiring for a Research Project Coordinator. This position helps to drive data-informed research that improves healthcare outcomes. The coordinator will play a key role in managing studies, supporting senior project managers, and consulting on specialized components. This includes planning and tracking research projects, managing data collection and reporting, engaging with study participants, and serving as a liaison among investigators, clinical teams, and external partners. The coordinator will also prepare documentation and reports for both internal and external audiences. This full-time, temporary position begins in June 2026, is based at Regions Hospital, and reports to the Director of Surgical Services. The role is expected to continue through June 2027 and involves direct collaboration with clinical professionals on active research initiatives. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of experience in healthcare, research, or project management
- Demonstrated planning and management skills.
- Ability to adhere to a research protocol and have flexibility and judgment to manage unforeseen situations that may arise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with care provider and operations/support staff, study participants, and outside funders and sponsors.
- Reliable transportation for travel to HealthPartners clinics and meeting sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Minimum of two years' experience in healthcare research, including responsibilities such as participant recruitment, project implementation, and/or study monitoring
Hours/Location:
- Monday - Friday; core business hours
- This position is based at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota and offers a hybrid work arrangement-combining both in-person and remote work. It is a temporary role scheduled to run from June 2026 through June 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for research study coordination and management of studies involving internal and external contacts, primarily on data-only studies and contracts. Support variety of activities working in conjunction with a more senior project manager in a paired project management model.
- With support of Principal Investigator, directs study activities and efforts.
- Facilitate groups, meetings, and committees, including agenda development and meeting summaries. Acts as a liaison with clinic staff and other internal and external departments, companies, grant partners, etc.
- Develops detailed project plans, timetables, resource estimation and tracking to meet deadlines.
- Drafts or develop IRB applications, primarily on data-only studies.
- Collaborates with internal sources to design systems, forms, questionnaires, and surveys.
- Performs human-subject related activities, such as recruitment, consent, conduct scripted interviews, and incentive payments according to current approved IRB materials and federal and organization requirements. May draft adverse events narrative for review.
- Identifies and acts upon barriers to success and works to enhance plausible solutions.
- Implement study protocols and ensure that the protocol is followed within regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinates the work of a limited number of study staff. Educates staff to work within applicable organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Allocates and coordinates resources, including maintaining budgets of smaller studies with less complex financial situations.
- Coordinates data collection processes and collaborates to design needed systems. Documents the data collection process, maintains orderly working and projects files.
- Create reports and programs from databases.
- Assists investigator in writing periodic and final reports for funding agencies, internal and external clients, oversight organizations, and communications regarding findings. Draft abstracts and presentations; narrow manuscript contributions.
- Participates in research operations and other HealthPartners Institute activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
