As the Key Account Manager, Applications Specialist, you will be a Business Development Manager / Application Specialist focusing on the non-traditional Refinish customer base. This hybrid role requires expertise in color styling, adjustments and matching to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) masters, combined with business development capabilities. You will support new project launches with application expertise, recommend layering techniques that meet OEM requirements, interpret OEM specifications, and increase business growth by developing new client opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical application support during the launch of new projects, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to quality standards.
- Recommend and develop layering strategies that comply with OEM specifications and performance requirements.
- Interpret and apply OEM specifications to guide application processes and product development.
- Perform color styling and/or adjustments and ensure accurate color matching to OEM master samples.
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the coatings and color solutions market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM clients and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs and OEM requirements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and technical demonstrations to prospective clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Application Specialist in coatings, paints, or related industries, with strong expertise in color science and OEM color matching.
- Expertise in business development, sales, or client relationship management within technical or industrial markets.
- Support new project launches with technical application expertise.
- In-depth understanding of OEM specifications and requirements related to coatings and layering.
- Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects to effectively engage with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
