Qualifications

Education/Training

Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in an electrical engineering field. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

Experience

Work requires a minimum of three years' experience in design, planning, maintenance, and evaluation in facility electrical systems. Experience in a utility plant setting preferred OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

What You'll Do:

* Coordinate and monitor maintenance and renovation of all University utility plant electrical systems.
* Attend weekly plant coordination meetings and collaborate with crossdisciplinary teams.
* Develop utility shutdown request forms, including full lists of impacted equipment, and communicate impacts to operations teams.
* Develop and supervise electrical switching procedures for construction or maintenance projects.
* Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and equipment within utility plants.
* Prepare reports and analyses outlining progress, trends, and recommended improvements to plant electrical systems.
* Conduct plant walkthroughs to identify and address operational issues.
* Update electrical training modules and train operations/maintenance staff.
* Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage inventory and maintenance activities.
* Maintain accurate oneline diagrams and electrical panel schedules for utility plants.

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $65,769.00 to USD $104,595.00.
