Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Security and Delivery Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership, security architecture design, and strategic guidance for cloud-hosted environments within the U.S. Mint Network. This hybrid position (one day per week on-site in Washington, D.C.) requires deep expertise in Zero Trust principles, defense-in-depth strategies, and emerging cloud technologies. The SME will assess cloud applications, advise on secure cloud architectures, and support the integration of innovative technologies such as AI, IoT, RPA, blockchain, and quantum computing to enhance cybersecurity posture and resilience across the organization. Job Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance, oversight, and leadership for enterprise security and Zero Trust architecture initiatives
Design and implement cloud security solutions aligned with Zero Trust and defense-in-depth principles
Lead the development and execution of cloud security architecture roadmaps and strategic plans
Offer technical leadership to ensure effective implementation of Zero Trust and cloud security frameworks
Support deployments across private, hybrid, and on-premise virtualized environments
Define and apply network security requirements, segmentation, and layered defense models
Design and oversee cloud event visibility, telemetry, and centralized monitoring solutions
Provide expertise in Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) technologies
Integrate OT/IoT security controls into cloud and enterprise security architecture
Evaluate and recommend new security tools, products, and emerging technologies
Develop cost estimates, scopes, and implementation schedules for cloud security initiatives
Serve as a trusted advisor on cloud security strategy, risk reduction, and compliance alignment
Job Requirements
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Minimum of 10 years of experience providing technical leadership in cybersecurity, cloud architecture, and solution deployment across hyperscaler cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
At least 5 years of experience as a technical service delivery manager supporting complex, high-value or high-impact systems (FIPS 199 High categorization or HVA)
Professional certifications in hyperscaler cloud platforms and/or advanced cloud specialty certifications required
Expertise in Zero Trust architecture design and implementation
Deep knowledge of micro-segmentation, VPC/VNet, and SD-LAN technologies
Proficiency with cloud deployment automation and infrastructure templates
Strong understanding of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) technologies
Advanced knowledge of firewalls, web application security, IDS/IPS, SIEM, centralized logging/auditing, and endpoint detection and response (EDR)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
