This is the most advanced level in the Mechanic Job Family. As a journey-level mechanic, this position works independently, may work as the lead within the area and receives limited supervision from the Maintenance Supervisor. This position is highly skilled and autonomously performs diagnoses, inspections and repairs of coaches and other vehicles. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Verifiable training in automotive or diesel mechanics (may have been obtained in high school automotive/mechanics course and/or regional occupational program) preferred. Five (5) years of full-time experience at the journey-level performing diagnostics and mechanical overhaul and repair of gas, diesel and/or CNG powered buses, trucks, and/or other related vehicles or equipment.
