Overview
Accounting Specialist ll Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist II to join our Finance team at the Central Business Office in Eugene, Oregon. This position plays a key role in supporting monthly financial operations by preparing, processing, and maintaining accounting records and transactions under general supervision. The ideal candidate will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial data while assisting with various accounting functions. This role upholds and promotes the standards of the US Oncology Compliance Program, including adherence to the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $22.01 - $36.02. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc. Employment Type: Full Time - 40hr/week (1.0 FTE) Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k) Location: Eugene, OR
Responsibilities
- Assists with coordination and processing of A/P and payroll for assigned area. Verifies, processes, and maintains all required
information by scheduled deadlines and supports actions with appropriate documentation. - Responsible for coding invoices into the standard chart of accounts.
- Reviews payments to confirm proper authorization and documentation of receipt are obtained.
- Prepares and distributes invoices as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendors, resolving invoice-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Support the monthly closing process by preparing journal entries, performing account analysis, reconciling bank statements, and compiling supporting documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Assists in balancing ledgers and maintaining financial accuracy.
- Maintain organized records, reports, and files in accordance with company policies.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of practice and/or patient information.
- Foster positive working relationships with department leaders and team members across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with the Controller and Senior Accountant, providing assistance as directed.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed to support departmental operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance team and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience required; 5-7 years preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
