Overview

Alliance Cancer Specialists is seeking a friendly, patient, and dependable individual to join our team as a Patient Transporter at our Langhorne Office (St. Marys, St.Clare Building). This part-time role is essential in ensuring patients are safely and comfortably escorted from the parking lot to the office and back. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate demeanor, and the physical ability to assist patients using wheelchairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients upon arrival and assist them from the parking lot to the office using a wheelchair or other mobility aids.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers.
  • Take direction from multiple parties including clinical staff, administrative personnel, and management.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide clear directions to patients and visitors within the hospital or office setting.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of wheelchairs and transport equipment.
  • Assist with other clerical or support duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting is a plus.
  • Ability to push and maneuver wheelchairs safely.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
  • Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care tasks
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations common to oncology clinics
  • In-person interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff is essential
