 Knowledge Management and Data Lead LOCATION:Remote-US  JOB STATUS:Full-time, Exempt  CLEARANCE:Secret (Preferred) CERTIFICATION:N/A  TRAVEL:Up to 5%  Astrion has an exciting opportunity for aKnowledge Management & Data Lead to help transform how our organization manages, shares, and leverages information. This role will bridge the gap between strategic planning and hands-on implementation, standing up the consolidation of siloed data into a coherent, governed, and accessible enterprise data environment. This role will work in the Innovation Office under the Chief Data Officer, shaping and leading enterprise frameworks while coordinating with the efforts of knowledge management specialists across Astrion Divisions and Enabling Services. This role will also coordinate efforts with Astrion's AI Initiative focusing on enterprise adoption of AI tools.  Key Responsibilities  
 Strategic Planning & Architecture 
  
   This role will work with the Chief Data Officer to: 
    
     Assess the current state of organizational data and knowledge management practices. Develop a roadmap for enterprise data architecture and knowledge management that aligns with business and compliance needs. Define data governance frameworks, standards, and policies to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security. Implementation & Operations 
  
   This role will lead: 
    
     Stand up, configure, and maintain data repositories, dictionaries, and metadata catalogs. Perform data mapping, migration, validation, and quality assurance. Establish repeatable processes for cataloging, storing, and sharing structured and unstructured data. Monitor data quality and integrity through routine audits, validation checks, and remediation actions. Collaboration & Compliance 
  
   This role will: 
    
     Work with the Vice President of IT & Cyber and CISO to ensure compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and client contractual requirements (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC). Work with other Astrion Divisions and Enabling Services to drive integration of data sources into common repositories, dashboards, and reporting pipelines.  Work with HR to provide training and support to staff on data governance and knowledge management practices. Promote adoption of knowledge-sharing tools and practices to reduce duplication of effort and ensure organizational learning.  Required Qualifications/Skills  
 Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field; Master's preferred. Equivalent experience with demonstrable technical capabilities considered.  5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or knowledge management. Experience supporting federal government programs or contractors strongly preferred, including understanding of federal compliance frameworks (e.g., CUI, FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP). Technical Expertise: Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines. Experience with metadata management, data modeling, and data quality tools. Proficiency operating within Microsoft AzureGov cloud environments. Previous experience in successful design, deployment, and operations of a Data Factory to include Microsoft Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, and PowerBI visualization. Knowledge Management Tools: Familiarity with platforms such as SharePoint, Confluence, or other document/content management systems across finance, human resources, contracting, and more. Strategic Thinking: Ability to design frameworks and roadmaps while balancing near-term execution. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify data-driven insights. Communication: Clear and effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaboration: Skilled at working across disciplines to align people, processes, and technology.  |
