    Assign daily work assignments to maximize operations
Work alongside employees in the performance of their duties
Assist department in meeting safety, production, and quality goals
Coordinate production activities with other departments
Assist in the development of other employees including holding them accountable and providing performance feedback to the management team
Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition and follow all safety policies and procedures
Ensure area is maintained to be clean and maintain a safe working environment
Assist with the supervision of equipment and Yard Operator activities throughout shift
Monitor all operations of the Shears, mobile and fixed equipment
Recommend improvements regarding conversion cost reductions or in any other way that makes improvement in the Yard Department
Recommend improvements regarding safety, inventory accuracy, equipment preservation, and reduced non-value-added production time
Recommend or refine recommendations for equipment, systems and process ideas that support continuous improvements
What You'll Need 
    Minimum 2 years maintaining environmental control systems
Minimum 1 year leading teams preferred
Ability to operate mobile equipment
Ability to stand for duration of shift, up to 12 hours; frequent walking or climbing stairs
Ability to work with exposure to inside and outside temperatures, loud noise, heights, and confined spaces
Knowledge of Yard fixed and mobile equipment and scrap quality inspection procedures preferred (inbound and outbound material)
Previous supervisory experience in an operations environment preferred but not required
Proven self-starter with experience developing individual strengths and teams
Thorough knowledge of rail/truck traffic flow, Scrap Identification, loading/unloading procedures, and Scrap processing preferred
Your Education 
    High School Diploma or GED preferred
