The Tool Room Manager is responsible for supervising, coordinating, training, and scheduling the Tool Room repair personnel during the maintenance and repair of tools and dies. Tool & Die Manager will oversee daily activities of repair department in order to minimize down time and support production.  Oversee daily tooling support for production; plans die repairs/preventative maintenance.Lead department to meet production objectives.Manage the tool & die budget to purchase expenditures.Supervise, train, and instruct Tool & Die repairs in safety, maintenance, and quality methods & procedures and capabilities of machines and equipment.Review, release, track, coordinate and close work orders.Implement minor engineering changes.Support Quality Control by improving and maintaining tools & dies.Ensure tooling specifications after each PM, die repair, and engineering change.Train and mentor department personnel on die functions and troubleshooting techniques.Track downtime to identify projects.Consult with Plant Manager relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.Participate in the selection, development, training and discipline of Tool & Die Repairs.Perform performance reviews with the assistance of the Plant Manager and Human Resources. Make recommendations on promotions or other changes in status of employees you are directly responsible for.Maintain compliance of organization policies, procedures, and safety standards.Maintain tool room equipment, and keep the tool room clean, safe and orderly. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Proper use of PPE is required at all times.  Conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspectionsMove about the entire facility as necessary, primarily in the Tool RoomRemain stationary for periods of time as necessaryMust be able to position self to lower levels to observe & work on machinery/moldsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Communicate with production staff, supervisors, managers and other staff as necessaryThe employee must move and/or lift materials or equipment weighing up to 50lbs Required Education and Experience  
 HS Diploma/GED5+ years supervisory experience in Tool & Die facility, or equivalent manufacturing background.Knowledge of machines & toolsKnowledge of arithmetic and applicationsKnowledge of practical application of Engineering Science and Technology Preferred Education and Experience
