| Position Summary / Department SummaryIn collaboration with the manager, assigns and prioritizes work within the Epic Cadence and Referral team to meet the needs of the supported operation's end-users and assigned Epic applications. As a senior resource with specialized knowledge of the team's core applications, guides analysts through the design, build/configuration, testing and implementation of the team's core Epic applications and their integration with other supported systems/applications. Mentors team members in their approach to identifying and defining solutions. Assists with training of staff. Serves as a specialist on the team's core Epic applications.
 Key Responsibilities 
  Works with manager to prioritize daily workload (tickets and projects), assign staff, and adjust as neededServes as a subject matter expert on core applicationsGuides analysts through design, configuration, testing, implementation, and maintenanceActs as an escalation point for complex issuesApplies Epic expertise and consultative skills to identify business solutionsAnalyzes technology and operations, recommending new features, vendors, or integrationsResearches vendor functionality, assesses integration needs, and recommends customizationsLeads multi-month projects from inception to implementationPerforms advanced configurations and customizationsImplements edits (e.g., security classes), moderately complex logic, or new templatesEnsures downstream impacts (billing, admitting, provider access) are addressedConducts unit, integrated, and specialty testingManages Epic-eligible vendor integrations and upgradesCoordinates testing for multi-application projectsPartners with IT and vendors on non-Epic integrationsCoordinates upgrade efforts, assigns release note reviews, communicates milestones, and escalates issues as neededLeads team meetings, maintains cross-team communication, and provides updates to leadershipRepresents the team in internal and external meetingsReviews schedules, raises performance concerns, and ensures coverageSupports onboarding, training, and mentoringAudits work for quality and provides performance feedbackDevelops or contributes to online and in-person training materialsAssists with process improvements, escalates resource needs, and supports implementationMay present at national Epic forums and attend trainings or conferences for certification Qualifications 
  Bachelor's degree required (Associate's +2 years, or HS diploma/GED +4 years may substitute).8 years Epic application support experience, including complex builds/integrations.At least 4 years Epic build experience with responsibility for complex builds/integrations. The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
