| Job Summary 
 The Senior Soldering Technician (SMT/Rework) is responsible for performing precision soldering, inspection, and rework of surface mount components on printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role requires expertise in identifying and correcting solder defects, operating rework and inspection equipment, and ensuring compliance with IPC standards. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in fine-pitch soldering, possesses strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
 
 Job Responsibilities
 
 
 
 Perform SMT soldering, rework, and touch-up on electronic assemblies using microscopes and precision toolsVerify component placement and orientation, and perform post reflow inspectionsIdentify and correct solder defects such as poor wetting, solder voids, bridges, misaligned components, tombstoned parts, and other surface mount issuesOperate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to detect solder defects and distinguish between false and valid defect callsUse rework equipment such as hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal tools (e.g., ERSA or similar OEMs)Review and inspect solder joints using X-ray equipment to identify defects in bottom-terminated componentsPerform jumper wire soldering and tacking on redesign boards as neededFollow detailed work instructions and industry standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) to ensure high-quality workmanshipMaintain focus and accuracy during prolonged periods of detailed work under a microscopeWork collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure products meet specifications and deadlines
