Facilities Technician - Boerne, TX

Job Summary

The Facilities Technician supports daily operations of the Boerne, TX facility by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role helps ensure a safe, compliant, and reliable work environment to support Albany Engineered Composites' (AEC) aerospace manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on building systems, including HVAC, compressed air, boilers, chillers, and other utilities.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Support production by responding quickly to facility-related issues and coordinating with operations staff.
• Assist with contractor oversight for facility projects (repairs, installs, upgrades).
• Monitor and log performance of critical utilities (air compressors, nitrogen, process water, etc.).
• Ensure all work complies with safety, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate work records in the SAP CMMS system.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment uptime and reduce facility-related downtime.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency facility issues as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace environments.
• Experience in aerospace or GMP-regulated environments.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
• Forklift or aerial lift certification.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, on-site role at AEC Boerne facility.
• May require overtime, weekends, or on-call duty to support production needs.
• Work environment includes exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
